Poughkeepsie, NY — On the first floor of Building D, a new dining hall center and gym are now open to students. The fitness center opened at the beginning of the semester and the North Campus Dining Center will have it’s official ribbon cutting at 4:30 PM Monday, January 29th.
The North End Dining Hall is set to include 4 main stations, most notably, Rosticceria Rossi & Sons, a Marist fan favorite. The Rossi’s staff have trained and provided Sodexo with the exact recipes, ingredients and tools needed to make and sell the famous Rossi’s sandwiches. In addition to Rossi’s, the dining hall will feature a grill with a “create your own” burgers, hot dogs, and grilled Portobello sandwiches station. A pizza and pasta station will allow students to order their own mini pizzas and fresh-to-order pasta. There will also be a smoothie and salad station. Lastly, the dining center will include a bakery and café. All meals are pay-per-meal, as opposed to the swipe-in system.
It is important to note that as of Tuesday, January 30th, the Dyson Café hours will change. Starting the 30th, the Dyson Café will be open from 7:30 AM until 11:00 AM on weekdays. At 11:00 AM, the Building D dining hall will open until midnight on weekdays and open at 5:00 PM until midnight on the weekends.
The newly opened gym features several cardio machines as well as a dance and yoga studio. The machines and studio are equipped with technology to give students access to workout videos to motivate and guide them through their workouts. The Building D fitness center has the same hours as the McCann gym. Athletics will continue their team workouts in McCann, freeing up this new fitness center as an alternative for students.
