"It is our mission to empower students and to create change in the Marist College community by serving as a liaison between the student body and the administration. We are dedicated to effectively addressing student concerns and promoting a diverse and inclusive environment for all."
At Marist College, a student leader is more than just a title. Students from diverse backgrounds and interests string to bring change and innovate to campus community.
The Marist College Student Government Association (SGA) is the group for advocating on behalf of the student body in decisions which transcend the jurisdiction of the students and have taken on extreme significance, or which involve serious issues with college faculty, staff, or administration.
SGA is also responsible for giving guidance to other student groups, clubs, and organizations. It further maintains the authority to charter campus clubs and organizations.
Lastly, SGA offers a conduit for information between the college and student groups.
SGA consists of three branches:
The Executive Branch consists of an elected Student Body President, Executive Vice President, and their appointed President's Cabinet, which is responsible for advising them on issues relevant to the operation of SGA.
