Mariah is a sophomore majoring in Communications and minoring in Political Science. She was born and raised in Bronx, New York. Her passion for SGA came from her experience with advocacy - she is all about helping and communicating the needs of others.
As a person with a disability herself due to childhood cancer, Mariah is an advocate especially of people with disabilities. Mariah has picked up another passion: motivational speaking. As a motivational speaker, she spreads awareness in the fields of cancer, disability, and her personal favorite: how to stay positive. She has spoken in front of a number of crowds, including but not limited to business owners, CEO's, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, colleges such as Hofstra and Adelphi, and political officials, such as congressmen and senators. Finally, Mariah was a key speaker in the United Nations and Capitol Building in Albany, NY.
Mariah’s goal is to someday work in the United Nations, advocating for the culture of disability world-wide. She also wants to become a CEO.
